I am a former union construction worker turned writer and marketer who loves to tell stories through multimedia.
(I will try to keep this brief)
I left my well-paid job in construction, because I was not happy. My eyes were red, my hands shook, and I could barely lift the weight of my own body out of bed in the morning.
Something needed to change.
I quit my job and began going to Oakland University full-time, where I earned my B.A. in Journalism with a minor in Digital Media Production. In college, I joined the radio station and grew my show to make it the most listened-to show on the station. I became great friends with a fellow marketer, and we started a promotion company together called Urban Geographer.
For nearly three years, we hosted many sold-out shows, partnered with charities, local businesses and Michigan State University and allowed local musicians to sustain a career pursuing their passions.
The only thing that made all of those things possible was marketing. We saw the value in building a community and told it's story through targeted content marketing, email marketing, videography and integrity.
I joined Beaumont Health's marketing team in 2018 and have learned even more.
I am now looking for more challenges.
